Commerce Brokerage Services has established a buyer assistance program to help buyers with their projects located in the Bahamas. Our staff will facilitate the transaction from beginning to end. Please contact our office after you have reviewed the brief outline provided below.

Over 300 material supply companies are currently in the CBS network. Materials available include light fixtures, flooring, plumbing fixtures and cabinets. Our firm has staff that will be dedicated to assisting the buyers. Hotel reservations can be made. Meetings with vendors can be scheduled to view their products. Transportation will be made available for the trips to visit the vendors’ showrooms. Interior designers can be recommended. Once the buyers choose their products and the requests are delivered to CBS the consolidation process can be completed expeditiously.

With substantial warehouse space available the buyer’s purchases can be stored until they are ready for shipment. Items will be segregated by finished construction material, such as the light fixtures, and the personal property, such as furniture. When the finished construction material is required, arrangements will be made to ship them directly to the buyer’s home in a separate container. The container can be used as secured storage until emptied. Subsequently, when the residence is completed a second container will be filled with the personal property. Again, the container will be delivered to the residence. Assistance may be provided to remove the contents. Finally, items can be delivered to the warehouse facility and stored for a nominal fee. An itemized inventory list will be kept.

CBS utilizes a number of trucking companies for the transportation of items. Buyer’s personal property from around the country can be delivered to our local warehouse. Arrangements can be made for the pick up of the products purchased from the vendors who are visited by the buyers.

Once the buyer’s request is received all the paperwork will be prepared and handled by the CBS staff or its agents. Customs, port, export and import documentation will be handled by our knowledgeable team.

CBS has established shipping relationships with two stevedore firms with access to ten vessels that can accommodate cargo containers and deliver them to the Bahamian port or directly to the buyer’s property. Our agents will schedule the shipment. When the containers are loaded on the vessel the arrival date and time will be provided to the buyers. In addition, the CBS staff will schedule the inspection process for customs when the containers arrive in the Bahamas.
